On Thursday, September 5th at 6:30 p.m. the Papillion Area Historical Society we will welcome Kelli Bacon, Certified Local Government Coordinator from the Nebraska State Historic Preservation office. Kelli will talk about local historic preservation including activities, workshops, walking/driving tours, preservation planning and training. Constitution Day/Citizenship Day Ceremony September 16, 2019
To celebrate Constitution Day, twenty new citizens will be sworn in front of the Historic Portal Schoolhouse in Papillion, Nebraska. The ceremony will take place on Monday, September 16th, at 1:30 p.m. on the grounds outside the schoolhouse.
The ceremony will include our master of ceremonies, Bob Olson, a lifetime Papillion resident and board member of the PAHS. Mr. Eugene Curtin, writer for the Omaha World Herald, Creighton Magazine, and formerly at the Papillion Times will serve as our Key Note Speaker.
The Papillion Area Historical Society is hosting the event. Support for the event is encouraged and can be arranged by contacting the Historical Society at (402)679-5100.
Priority seating is given to new citizens and their families. The public is welcome to observe the ceremony based on space availability.
