Portal School was located south of the township of Portal, Nebraska, near Papillion.  The 1890 school building remained open until May of 1993.  The Papillion Area Historical Society purchased this one-room school building for one dollar on November 22, 1995, and moved it to its present location in downtown Papillion.  It currently is the meeting place of PAHS, is open by appointment for tours, hosts area fourth grade students for Pioneer Days, Stroll Down Gingerbread Lane, and hosts Santa Claus during Winter Wonderland.
