A team of PLV teachers, school administrators, members of the Papillion Area Historical Society and community members developed this field trip for Papillion/La Vista fourth graders. The first field trip was in the spring of 2001.  For PLV students, funding is provided by a grant through the Papillion/ La Vista Schools Foundation. Fourth graders listen to a pioneer story, tour City Hall (the second Sarpy County courthouse), tour the John Sautter farmhouse, and experience a one-room school setting in the historic Portal school.  Their groups enjoy lunch on the grounds before their trip ends.  Through the years, other area schools have also participated in this annual spring field trip.
